How does one deal with apathy in writing? It is different from writer’s block — that makes me anxious. This just makes me tired every time I pull up one of my projects. And sleep is my biggest weakness when it comes to writing. The benefits of meeting my goals seem unimportant. The usual negative feelings that come from writing feel tired and old.
Oh. It might just be a small depression. Knowing the problem, I know the solution. I’ll increase my exercise, watch what I eat, and expect to sleep more. As for my writing, I’ll do small, technical tasks in editing that don’t require much energy, enthusiasm, or creativity. And I’ll cut my writing time slightly to avoid burn-out. And hope for a mania.
When you know your body, your rhythms, and your quirks, you become better equipped to deal with the temporary ups and downs in your writing process.
I wanted to let you know that I nominated Writer Block for the Super Sweet Blogging Award. The other nominations and rules for participation are at http://aprobertsstories.wordpress.com/awards/super-sweet/
